About Brownsea Island

This former private island is now a brilliant day out for the family. The island houses a castle built by Henry VIII and has a thriving natural habitat, including one of the last red squirrel colonies in the UK. The Baden-Powell Outdoor Centre also invites you to follow in the footsteps of the very first Scouts and Guides, whose movement was founded here in 1907.
