About St Giles Cathedral

Founded in 1124 by either King Alexander I or his succesor David I and named for the seventh century Greek Hermit and patron saint of Edinburgh, St Giles, this cathedral is a centre of both great religious and historic significance within the city. Able to be seen easily in the Edinburgh skyline due to its impressive steeple and structure, much of its medieval interior remains to this day and is a must-see for anyone visiting the city.
