About Rayleigh Mount
Once an early medieval motte and bailey castle, but now an expanse of greenery and wildlife, Rayleigh mount offers vast views of the surrounding area as well as neighbouring a sensory garden and windmill. Whle the original Norman castle may be long gone, there is still a trail mapping the original structure that can be walked and enjoyed. There are also weekly guided walks during the summer months that explore the history of Rayleigh and are suitable for all abilities.
