I went with my family to Alton Towers back last year on a day out. Out of all the theme parks in the UK, I think Alton Towers is probably the most well rounded. The coasters aren't amazing but certainly good enough. Rita is great fun - if not as good as Stealth at Thorpe Park. Air'was also a very fun experience and is almost a 'family friendly' coaster, without losing the thrill aspect. Queue times were around 20-30 minutes but that's the norm these days, especially with a theme park as popular as this one. The most Disappointing 'ride was 'Duel,' which was fairly rubbish as my gun didn't work properly, wasted over half an hour queuing for that!

I'd love to go again. It was quite far to travel, the rides were scary but I did manage them xxx

I went to Alton Towers recently for the Scarefest

I went to Alton Towers recently for the Scarefest they have for Halloween. They had extra rides and people dressed up walking around and scary decorations all for the Halloween theme. I bought fast track tickets when I went for the main popular rides, for a little bit more money they're well worth it. I was expecting to queue for ages on the other rides but the queues weren't that bad at all 30 minutes at most I queued though I have been before and it's been alot longer. My favourite ride is still Oblivion, though Rita comes a close second and Nemesis is even better when you sit at the front. I'll definatly be going again because each time i go it seems to get better and better! Also i recommend going at Halloween time!

I absolutely loved Alton towers - the queues were a bit manic, but the rides well worth the wait. Rita was one of my favorites - incredibly fast, and hilarious to watch (macho guys thinking they're going to be ok, then screaming!). 'Air' is another fantastic ride - you're strapped in leaning 90 degrees forward, so it's like you're flying. Managed to get on Oblivion with only 3 or 4 minutes to wait, right at the end of the day. All in all, a great day out - might be worth buying some 'fast-track' tickets if you're not a big fan of queuing though.

When we went to Alton Towers, it was close to being the middle of summer so there were a lot of people about. The first ride we went on was spinball wizzer, the ride had a long queue, about 50mins but it was a good ride. The other ride we went on, we got on quite quickly, we did the water rides before lunch and the 'bigger' rides after. The Nemesis, Air and Rita were definitely the best rides, i wasn't keen on the Oblivion but thats due to my fear of heights! Rita did break down when i was in the queue and it was fairly annoying having to wait for the ride twice. Overall it was a good day out, definitely one i would do again.
