About Buckler's Hard

Buckler’s Hard, on the banks of the Beaulieu River, is an 18th century shipbuilding village, where ships for Nelson’s Trafalgar fleet were once built. Visit the Maritime Museum to discover the history of this unique place and the famous ships that were built here. See historical displays in the Labourer’s and Shipwright’s Cottages and in the New Inn hear residents from the time gossiping about local matters. Enjoy a tranquil cruise along the Beaulieu River (operating 5 April – 2 November) and relax in the Captain’s Cabin Tea Rooms, which serves a range of light refreshments and drinks throughout the day, including delicious cream teas.
