Why not visit Tenterden’s Steam Railway after Christmas for scenic ride through the English countryside? A nostalgic journey through a beautiful winter landscape, taking place on selected dates post-Christmas – including December 30th, 31st and January 1st.

Kent & East Sussex Railway, in Tenderten, were the first heritage railway in the UK to allow visitors the chance to meet Santa on a moving train. Pioneered in 1974, the same year the railway was granted a Light Railway (Transfer) Order to allow it to operate.

This summer families can enjoy a fun day out on Tenterden’s Steam Railway while enjoying a fantastic summer promotion which allows one Child to travel for free with every Adult TravelCard purchased!  The promotion will run between 25 July and 3 September 2017.

Have an enchanting day out at the Kent & East Sussex Railway in Tenterden on 22, 23 and 24 July 2017 with Thomas the Tank Engine™ and some of his favourite friends.

Travel by steam train on selected dates throughout the year and if you are over 60 take advantage of the special £13 return train travel (usually £18) which is valid on all trains departing on the following dates.

In partnership with the Foxcote Manor Society, the Kent and East Sussex Railway have booked the magnificent 7822 Foxcote Manor to run during May on their idyllic line. This will be the largest engine ever to operate on this railway.

Real Ale Trains and Cider Express Trains are back for 2017!!  Sit back with your locally produced tipple and enjoy your ride behind a historic steam locomotive and watch the delightful countryside of the Rother Valley roll past.  Enjoy a tasty hot meal served during the journey and on arrival at the picturesque Bodiam Station there will be live music to entertain you. 

A brand new exhibition is set to open this Easter at the Kent & East Sussex Railway in Tenterden.

The attractions which make up the Seven Wonders of the Weald are hoping to attract plenty of visitors to Kent this summer to enjoy this popular county which is also known as the Garden of England. For just £30 you can get their annual pass, which is a great way to save money as it gives one free entry to all the attractions. The pass is available from the Seven Wonders of the Weald website as well as from Chiddingstone Castle, Biddenden Vineyards, the offices of Kent & Sussex Holiday Cottages in Cranbrook and the visitor information centres in Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone.

Relax with Dad on board one of the Kent & East Sussex Railway’s vintage steam trains this Father’s Day (Sunday 19 June 2016), while taking in the beautiful scenery between Tenterden and Bodiam Stations.

On 3 June, 29 July and 12 August 2016, three specially timetabled Steam Trains will run between Tenterden and Bodiam. The Real Ale Trains journeys will depart from Tenterden at 6.30pm and return at 9.45pm.

On Sunday 6 March 2016, enjoy a special Mothers’ Day treat with a visit to Tenterden’s Steam Railway.

Kent & East Sussex Railway will be putting the cream on your heritage day out, in 2016, offering traditional afternoon teas at Tenterden Station’s refreshment rooms.

This May Bank Holiday (Saturday 2nd May – Monday 4th May), the Kent & East Sussex Railway in Tenterden will be recapturing the unique atmosphere of the 1940s, as you are invited to hear the incredible story of Zdenka Fantlová.

At a ceremony held at the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry, The Colonel Stephens Museum (located at the Kent & East Sussex Railway in Tenterden), received top museum award this month.

  A special Mother’s Day treat can be booked for Saturday 30th March on the Kent & East Sussex Railway.
