It’s time for some extra holiday fun at ZSL London Zoo, as zookeepers have been busy preparing some very seasonal surprises for the Zoo’s residents to enjoy. Asiatic lionesses Heidi, Indi and Rubi will wake up to a pile of pretty presents to rip open - thanks to specialist fund management group Liontrust - while the Zoo’s Humboldt penguin colony will be pecking for pressies underneath their very own Christmas tree.

In the wake of a thunderstorm, storm Aileen, a giant baby anteater was born. The newest resident to ZSL London Zoo, is now 6 weeks old, and has a shocking white stripe covering the youngster’s back. The mother of the new-born, Inca, has taken the baby outside for the first time since the birth.

Four of the world’s biggest tortoises have arrived at ZSL London Zoo, although they are smaller than you think. The baby Galapagos tortoises have taken up residence at the zoo. Currently only weighing 2kg, these infants are expected to grow to a massive size, measuring 400kg in weight.

Launching this August, the newest attraction at ZSL London Zoo is officially open! 

Step back in time this summer, as ZSL London Zoo becomes home to the most colossal creatures ever to walk the earth! For just six weeks, summer visitors to the Zoo will be transported by time machine to the Mesozoic era at Zoorassic Park, a prehistoric world where they will come face-to-face with life-size, moving dinosaurs: from the giant but gentle brachiosaurus to the towering tyrannosaurus rex. Included in Zoo entry, families will be able to learn all about the fascinating creatures that lived 65 million years ago, as well as the important work ZSL’s scientists are doing to help prevent today’s endangered animals from extinction.

Do you know which species can endure radiation, fire and ice and survive in outer space? Or which animal has the largest, slimiest eyeball? Prepare to be wowed by wildlife this May half-term, at ZSL London Zoo’s new interactive stage show Gruesome Nature Live!

ZSL London Zoo Stampede, Sunday 26 March, 2017 ZSL London Zoo is preparing for the wildest run in London, its annual Stampede. A Sunday run like no other, sprinters (or strollers) will run past some of the world’s most incredible animals.

ZSL London Zoo Annual Count PIX FOR SYNDICATION: Armed with clipboards, calculators and cameras, Zookeepers at ZSL London Zoo welcomed in the New Year today, as they started the annual animal stocktake.

Zookeeper Kelly-Anne Kelleher has taken on the role of surrogate mum, with the help of a special teddy-bear, to ZSL London Zoo’s newest arrival; a tiny baby sloth.

DID you know a group of tigers is called a streak? Zookeeper at ZSL London Zoo, Grant Kother, bares all in a hope to inspire other brave challengers to drop everything and run on 15 August at the Zoo's first Streak for Tigers.

ZSL London Zoo's brand new Sumatran tiger enclosure will be given the royal seal of approval on Wednesday 20 March, when it is officially opened by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.
