There’s going to be a right royal knees-up to mark Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday at Kent Life Heritage Farm Park, near Maidstone, on June 12 as the award-winning attraction throws a special street party.
The celebration bunting will be flying and there will be fun for all ages, including family games, tug of war and the chance to whiz down a traditional helter skelter.
Youngsters can play an interactive role in Kent Life’s popular ferret racing, for the first time ever and you can even jump on board their brand new land train and practise your royal wave as it tours Kent Life’s gorgeous grounds.
The highlight of the day will be the sheep races, sponsored by Be My Bear, when Kent Life’s special Royal Family ‘jockeys’ will be saddling up and trying to beat each other to the finish line. Who will win – The Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry or Prince George? Come along and shout for your favourite.
As a special tribute to Her Majesty, the attraction will even be unveiling a giant birthday cake so don’t miss it!
Young visitors will have plenty more to keep them entertained during their visit, including feeding the farm animals, stroking smaller animals in Cuddle Corner and tractor rides.
Tickets are adults £9.50; children £7.50 (aged 3-15); concessions £8.50; family ticket (two adults and two children) £29.95. Members and under-threes FREE. Opening times: 10am to 5pm, last admission at 4pm.
Kent Life is the county’s premier rural heritage experience, set in 28 acres of countryside. Visitors can wander through period dressed historic buildings in the charming Vintage Village; explore the beautiful gardens, orchard and one of the last hand-picked hop gardens in the country; ramble along the wildlife discovery trail and see the last working coal-fired oast house in Britain.
The attraction is also a real working farm, so there are plenty of animals to see, including pigs, sheep, ducks, goats, alpacas, horses and ponies.
