Cowboys and Indians weekend at Groombridge Place

Visit Groombridge Place over August Bank Holiday Weekend (24 - 26 August) when children can enjoy the new Cowboys and Indians experience. The activity weekend will include all day arts and crafts including Indian face painting and hair braiding in the Indian camp in the Enchanted Forest. Take part in shoot outs and bow and arrow contests, try out barn dancing and take up the rodeo bull challenges. Learn how to drum like an Indian in the tepees and listen to storytellers regaling tales of the Wild West. Children can really enter into the spirit of the day and choose to come dressed as cowboys and Indians! The event is free with admission to Groombridge Place.

Don't miss all the other attractions at Groombridge including the Enchanted Forest with its huge tree swings, zip wire and board walk. Discover Crusoe's World with its authentic large wooden ship complete with rope bridges.

Watch the majestic Peacocks from the Peacock Bistro and stroll round the lovely gardens which overlook the attractive moated 17th century manor house. Children will love the giant chess set and the secret garden with streams which feed the moat.

The popular Bird of Prey Centre is also based at Groombridge Place and this is a chance to see some magnificent birds up close including Helga the Bald Eagle. The birds thrill visitors with their daring flying displays while their handler captivates audiences with his commentary about the birds while they fly.

Don't miss a trip on the canal boat to the enchanted forest or the chance to meet the baby animals.

The 'Peacock Bistro' serves hot and cold drinks, as well as delicious lunches and cream teas.
