Dodgy join Blondie for epic Eden Session, Friday June 23

Shooting to fame in the 1990s, festival favourites Dodgy were together for seven years and in that time sold over a million records worldwide.

They released three albums and enjoyed 12 Top 40 singles, including Staying Out For The Summer, In A Room, If You’re Thinking Of Me and their massive signature hit Good Enough - one of the most played tracks on British radio in the last 20 years.

What Are We Fighting For -  the critically-acclaimed fifth album from the original Dodgy line-up of Nigel Clark, Mathew Priest and Andy Miller – was released on Cherry Red Records in September last year.

It was the first collection of new material since their reunion album, Stand Upright In A Cool Place in 2012. It was also the first album to feature new member Stu Thoy on bass. Stu joined the band to help them tour the last album and has hung on in there ever since.

Eden’s marketing director Rita Broe said today:  “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Dodgy as special guests to Blondie in what promises to be an epic summer night in front of the Biomes.”

Also on the bill at the Eden Sessions in 2017 are Bastille (tonight, June 15 – SOLD OUT), Madness (June 16 – SOLD OUT), Royal Blood (June 22), Van Morrison (July 1), Bryan Adams (July 6 – SOLD OUT), and Foals (July 11).

Recently announced as support for the Bastille concert is acclaimed London-based producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rationale.

Taking the stage before Madness will be Backbeat Soundsystem, the much-loved eight-piece reggae band from St Austell.

Supporting Royal Blood on June 22 are renowned Bristolian riff-ragers Turbowolf, bringing to the Sessions their signature brand of patchouli-drenched punk rock fury.

Paul Brady, Ruarri Joseph (performing as William the Conqueror), Nathan Ball and Kezia will provide an afternoon of live music ahead of Van Morrison’s headline show on July 1.

Art pop pioneers Everything Everything are joining Foals for an extra special Eden Session on July 11.

The Eden Sessions are now in their 16th year. Last year saw Lionel Richie, Tom Jones, PJ Harvey, Manic Street Preachers and Jess Glynne carry on the great tradition of bringing top UK and international acts to Eden.

The Eden Sessions has its own free-to-view online TV channel (www.youtube.com/edensessionstv) featuring regularly-updated videos of some of the gigs' finest shows.

Tickets to the Blondie Eden Session with special guests Dodgy are still available on www.edensessions.com priced £40 plus £5 booking fee.
