Elsa, Kermit, The Snowman and Elf are among thousands of visitors flocking to Manchester Cathedral this Christmas

Christmas has been celebrated at Manchester Cathedral for over 500 years!

They are delighted to welcome back this year a host of Manchester’s favourite charities including Henshaws, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and The Christie, for their annual carol concerts.  Everyone is invited to come along to the Cathedral on Christmas Eve for Blessing of the Crib and Children’s Nativity at 12 noon, to join us for Midnight Mass at 11.30pm or to celebrate Christmas Day with a service at 10.30am.

Alongside the wonderful carol concerts and Christmas services, they are for the first time bringing some of your favourite Christmas movies to a giant screen, in the spectacular setting of this medieval church.

On Friday 4 December, their doors will be opening for Kermit, Miss Piggy and their friends for a 6.30pm screening of the all-time classic, The Muppet Christmas Carol.  At 8.30pm, Elf takes over with Will Ferrell as Buddy, a human being who has spent his whole life believing himself to be an elf.

On Saturday 5 December, The Snowman flies into the Cathedral at 7.30pm,  followed by the opportunity to see the epic, modern, Disney classic, Frozen, as you have never seen it before - get your tissues at the ready for this movie double bill!

Take a break from the Christmas markets and shopping, dress up as your favourite character or Elf, dig out your Christmas jumpers and enjoy themed cocktails, mocktails, popcorn and sweets.

Get your tickets for what is set to be the hottest ticket and the coolest cinema experience of the festive season!

They are also delighted to be working alongside Key 103 and their Mission Christmas appeal.  New toy donations can be dropped off at Manchester Cathedral between 10.30am and 4pm.  The last drop-off date is Wednesday 16 December.
