Feel the Heat at ZSL London Zoo

The Fire Walk returns to raise funds for lions

To help protect endangered Asiatic lions, ZSL London Zoo is encouraging fearless fundraisers to prowl barefoot across red hot coals, on Thursday 19 November.

Those daring to face the fire will walk across smouldering embers to raise vital funds for international conservation charity the Zoological Society of London’s (ZSL) Asiatic lions campaign.

As well as carrying out vital conservation work in India where only approximately 500 Asiatic lions are left in the wild, ZSL aims to raise £5.7m to create Land of the Lions, an Indian-themed exhibit and breeding centre at ZSL London Zoo.

The roar-some challengers will attend a ‘Nothing is Impossible’ seminar, led by the Fire Master, to help them put their best foot forward when they step out into the heart of the Zoo to face the flames.

While the courageous challengers are preparing their minds and feet, spectators can test their own daring with a torch lit tour of the Zoo. Friends and family are encouraged to come along and lend their support to the fire walkers.

Places are limited, and are being pounced on fast for what promises to be an adrenaline fuelled, firecracker of an evening. Fire walking spaces and spectator tickets must be booked by 3pm on Thursday 19 November at www.zsl.org/firewalk
