'Forest of Fear' - Spooky Halloween fun for all the family at Groombridge Place

At Groombridge Place as Halloween looms, there will be ghoulish entertainment and activities on offer for all ages , from Saturday October 24 to Sunday 1 November. Daily prize for the best halloween costume!

Families can witness the spooky adventures of Hansel and Gretel, between 10am and 5pm, as they escape the clutches of the Evil Witch only to stumble into another monstrous nightmare – the Monster Mash Halloween Party! Other activities include creepy crafts, gruesome games, fearsome face painting, devilish dancing and much more.

As night falls, feel the fear build... Are you brave enough to venture into the Enchanted Forest after dark? 

From 5pm to 8pm, events take a darker turn and the fear factor rises, as your guide invites you to step into the Enchanted Forest for a haunting tour you'll never forget...  includes fire shows with brave fire eaters and an exclusive evening theatre performance involving a witch hunt for an evil witch raising spirits from the forest.  This part of the day is recommended for ages 12 and above, and under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.

For those wise souls who would prefer to stay away from the woods after dark, fun craft activities will be on offer in another part of the grounds.

All that terror is sure to make visitors hungry, so delicious food and drink will be on offer in the Halloween-themed restaurant and coffee bar throughout the day – just look out for the spiders...

Visitors can watch the majestic Peacocks that roam the grounds and see thrilling birds of prey flying displays which take place twice a day (Tuesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays).  A canal boat runs between the gardens and Crusoe’s World in the Enchanted Forest. (The canal boat is £1 for children and £1.50 for adults).  Face painting will be available at £3 per child.

The walled gardens are a place to relax and watch the children as they run round the gardens or play on the giant chess set. 

The attraction is less than 4 miles from Tunbridge Wells and accessible by road or via the Spa Valley Railway (please check their timetable before travelling by train).

Directions to Groombridge Place:

Groombridge Place is located in the village of Groombridge, 4 miles south west of Tunbridge Wells on the B2110, which is just off the A264 Tunbridge Wells/ East Grinstead road - on the Kent and East Sussex county border.

By Road: From the M25: Exit at Junction 5 and head south on the A21. After 10 miles, exit at A26 signed Tunbridge Wells: then take A264 to East Grinstead and follow the signs to Groombridge village and Groombridge Place.

By Rail: London Charing Cross to Tunbridge Wells, then bus or taxi to Groombridge. Or take the Spa Valley Railway steam train from Tunbridge Wells West Station with a 10-minute walk the other end. Bus: Take the 291 - 15 minute bus journey, only 1 bus per hour generally:
