Go behind the scenes at Chiddingstone Castle this winter with a unique group tour

This winter groups can access areas of Chiddingstone Castle not normally seen by the public, for an extra special day out.

The Castle is a fascinating place to visit, with a history that can be traced back to the early 1500s.  During its long and eventful past, the building has undergone numerous architectural changes and been occupied by a variety of colourful characters.

Today visitors can explore many rooms in this beautiful residence and view art and artefacts from around the world, brought to Chiddingstone by its former owner, the late celebrated antiquarian and collector Denys Eyre Bower. These include Japanese, Buddhist, Ancient Egyptian, Royal Stuart and Jacobite collections.

If you would like to see more, the Castle will be opening during the winter months for pre-booked groups with private tours that will take you behind the scenes to explore additional areas such as the Victorian Servant’s Bedroom in the attic and the Community Archive Room.  Your group can enjoy a remarkable insight into life at the Castle, plus the ticket can include pre-arranged refreshments of your choice in the Tea Room, located in the Castle’s former Buttery. This is a wonderful way for family, friends, social groups or organisations to experience an unusual day out together at a unique and historic Kent property.

Group visits can be tailored to suit your requirements. There is a minimum group size of approximately 20 people.

Pre-booking is essential, so call 01892 872746 or email [email protected] to discuss your visit.
