About Treasurer's House
This Edwardian town house has quite the fascinating history, being transformed from a delapidated property to a residence fit for a gentleman. At the end of the nineteenth century it was purchased and made into a spectacular show-home and has been visited by several notable guests including royalty. It was also the first house ever given to the National Trust complete with its collection of art, furniture and antiques, all still available to see. Tucked behind York Minster, the property boasts wonderful views from both the house and the award-winning garden.
