About Bamburgh Castle
The King of Castles, Bamburgh dominates the coastal landscape for miles around. Sitting at the heart of the Coastal Area of Natural Beauty, it’s easy to see why for thousands of years there have been people living and defending this rocky outcrop. There are fourteen rooms to explore and a collection of over 3000 pieces including arms and armour, porcelain, furniture and artwork. The stunning centre piece is the King’s Hall, with over 300 tons of teak it’s a masterpiece of construction and engineering. Housed in the old laundry The Armstrong and Aviation Artefacts Museum is a collection of artefacts spanning both World Wars as well as others relating to Lord Armstrong’s industrial heritage. In the grounds there are battlements with canons, which offer incredible views out across the amazing beach towards the Farne Islands.
