Brooklands Museum’s restoration of the original Brooklands Finishing Straight and the re-instatement of the Paddock Scoreboard was awarded a rare Special Commendation at the FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile), annual gala and prize giving ceremony on December 8th at the Palace of Versailles near Paris. The Special Commendation was the first ever awarded by the FIA Founding Members' Club, whose annual Members’ Heritage Cup was won this year by the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Pensinsula (SCRAMP) for its annual historic race meeting at Laguna Seca, California.

There is some speggtacular Easter Family Fun at Brooklands this April with an Easter Trail that will keep visitors entertained every day from 1st – 23rd April. During this period visitors will be able to collect their free Trails on arrival, head off around the Museum to solve the hidden clues, and then back to the Shop to claim their FREE Easter-egg prize.

26th June 2016 Iconic Double-Deckers will Flock to Brooklands for 60th Anniversary

With the announcement in last week’s Budget of a £1million grant from the Government, Brooklands Museum took a major step forward in its ground-breaking Re-Engineering Brooklands redevelopment programme. The award coincides with the start of construction work at the Museum to enable the re-interpretation of key parts of Brooklands’ aviation and motorsport history.

The start of Pancreatic Cancer Month was marked by Brooklands Museum on Sunday November 1 by bathing its gate guardian, Mini Concorde, in purple hues.

Starting at 8am on Sunday 25th October, the last Brooklands Classic Breakfast of 2015 will give hundreds of vintage and classic vehicle enthusiasts the chance to have breakfast and admire the cars, motorbikes, commercials, retro and supercars on show. There will be plenty for regular visitors arriving from 10am to see and enjoy, with many of the vehicles staying for a run up Test Hill* later in the morning.

Snap, Fly, Ride, Drive, Try:Summer at Brooklands Museum is Full of Fun For All the Family 27th July - 28th August This summer Brooklands Museum is laying on so much to enjoy, one day won’t be enough. As well as seeing the incredible collections of cars, motorcycles and aircraft from the golden age of racing and flying, families visiting during the holiday will be able to experience thrilling car rides (Mondays to Thursdays), ‘fly’ with the Red Arrows and Concorde, get snapping for the Young Photographer competition or take part in a fascinating workshop on a motoring or aviation theme.

A fire-breathing aero-engined monster, a Formula 5000 car and hundreds of other exotics will star at Brooklands Museum’s annual Italian Car Day.

The special, distinctively-liveried London buses which used to ferry passengers from the old Cromwell Road Air Terminal or Victoria Station to Heathrow Airport during the 1960s and ’70s will be a special feature of the 42nd annual London Bus Museum Spring Gathering on Sunday 19th April. They will be amongst around a hundred London buses of all types which are expected to descend on the Brooklands Museum site, home of London Bus Museum, on the day. As well as vintage and modern bus rides in and around Brooklands, there will be numerous trade stalls offering a vast array of memorabilia and collectibles, static displays of ex-London Transport and Provincial buses and some of the latest vehicles to enter London Transport service.

A fire-breathing monster of a car nicknamed ‘Il Drago Ruggente’ (roaring dragon) with a 27-litre aero engine will be one of the stars of Brooklands Museum’s annual Italian Car Day on Saturday 3rd May.

The end of an astounding 100 years of continuous service with the British armed forces by Brooklands-built aircraft is marked on September 28th at the annual Brooklands Aviation Day.

Two Visits for the Price of One as Brooklands Museum Celebrates Barnes Wallis And the 70th Anniversary of the Historic 'Dambusters' Raids of WWII.

Over 1,000 Italian cars - from the fastest Ferrari to the most unassuming Fiat 500 - will fill Brooklands Museum's grounds to overflowing on Saturday, May 4th - and the most exciting of them will be seen and heard in action on the Mercedes-Benz World circuit. All the great Italian marques, including Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia will be there, together with an extensive Trade Village, Club displays and special catering throughout the site. This year will be the 27th anniversary of the UK's first and finest all-Italian car event, which co-organiser Auto Italia magazine moved to the Birthplace of British Motorsport and Aviation 22 years ago.

At Brooklands Museum we aim to recreate the excitement of race days from a bygone era. Cars may not be able to whizz around the Brooklands circuit anymore, but we can still thrill visitors with our programme of special events, and this summer we have some of our most spectacular events coming up. This season at Brooklands there will be something for everyone to enjoy, whether you love to admire sleek Italian design blasting up Test Hill, prefer a journey back to the 1940s, or want to see some magnificent vintage sports cars competing in speed trails.
