Calling all buccaneers and swashbucklers, an exciting treasure hunt awaits ye at The National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham during the underwater attraction’s Pirate Week this half term (Saturday 27th May to Sunday 4th June).

For the first time ever in the heart of the city you can enjoy the world of the Octopus at the National Sea Life Centre Birmingham.

From the smallest fish to the furriest mammals, love, affection; whatever you’d like to call it, it’s in the air at the National Sea Life Centre Birmingham this Valentine’s Day. In a show of otter-ly gorgeous affection, otters Mango and Starsky, who’ve been a couple for just over a year, are very much in love with hugs at the top of the list on Valentine’s Day.

Christmas came early for The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham, in the form of nine new eager Gentoo penguins from Billund, Denmark who travelled an impressive 1,407 kilometres and eventually waddled happily into their new Midlands home.

Tomorrow is an iconic day for The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham, as it marks its 20th anniversary, and to celebrate, there are some super cool prizes up for grabs.

Thousands of youngsters will be helped to create their own sea creatures at Sea Life centres with Kids TV arts and craft sensation Mister Maker.

Returning to The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham, on Saturday 30th April, are legendary undersea adventurers The Octonauts. Children and adults alike will join their mission to explore, rescue and protect the world’s waterways and its creatures in their brand new 4-D movie, which will be screened in the attraction’s sensational 4-D cinema!

With Star Wars fever already running high, seven Sarlacc Jellyfish have been welcomed to the ever growing weird and wonderful family of sea creastures, at The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham.

Christmas has come early for the Gentoo penguin colony at The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham as the cheeky birds were treated to a tasty Christmas lunch by their keepers. No festive feast would be complete without crackers, which resulted in the traditional Christmas squabbles for the prize, which was in this case, a herring!

This February half term, week starting 14th February to 22nd February, waddling penguins will be gearing up for a fun-filled conservation week.

The last place you would expect to see live shore crabs is in the Midlands, 100 miles away from the nearest beach. But two of these creatures are now recuperating at The National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham, after being found cowering in a lift by a shocked resident! 

Heroes of the seas, Octonaut crew members Kwazii and Peso, arrived in Birmingham on Thursday (March 21st ) in dramatic style.

With not a single brain or heart between them, the dozens of new residents arriving at Birmingham Sea Life Centre later this month are sure to prove a hit with visitors.
