About Selly Manor

Originally built as a yeoman's house, this property has quite the fascinating history, having had two locations and many different names. The earliest records date from the fifteenth century but it was moved to its current site in 1916 by chocolate manufacturer George Cadbury so it could be restored from its then poor condition and was then opened as a museum the following year. The museum is host to a large and intersting collection of different pieces, showing how the house would have functioned in the 16th and 17th centuries and the property also hosts a number of different and exciting events throughout the year.
