About Harting Down
Harting Down is one of the largest areas of ancient chalk downland, situated in West Sussex and cared for by the National Trust. Take a stroll through secluded valleys, surrounded by an abundance of wild flowers, take in breathtaking views from the brows of the hilltops and look out for the varied, and rare, species of wildlife. For those with a historical interest, visit the Iron Age hill fort or walk to Beacon Hill to see the remains of a Napoleonic war. With so much to see and do, including superb events throughout the year, Harting Down is well worth a visit.
