About Craigievar Castle NTS
The fairytale Craigievar Castle in Aberdeen, is a fine example of Scottish Baronial architecture - where the great tower still stands as it did when completed in 1626 - surrounded by stunning rolling hills and parkland. The castle is home to a brilliant collection of family portraits - the Forbes family lived in the castle for 350 years - and original plaster ceilings, as well as original Jacobean woodwork and beautiful furniture. When visiting Aberdeen, the Craigievar Castle is an absolute must see, whether you are looking to learn about its vast heritage or simply want to marvel at the wonderful architecture.
