About Eton College Natural History Museum
Eton College's Natural History Museum first opened in 1875, housing the Thackeray Collection of British Birds and other Collections. Now the Museum houses more than 16,000 specimans and displays, exploring a brilliant array of themes, from ecology to biodiversity. Go on an Adventure with Robin Hanbury-Tenison, one of the greatest British explorers of the twentieth century, discovering his extensive collection of brilliant artifacts and objects. Or discover with Charles Darwin, by travelling back to the nineteenth century, to Darwin's ground-breaking voyage to the Galapagos Islands. The Museum is family-friendly, where there are many trails that young families can enjoy together. As well as being open to the public on Sundays, where guests can marvel at the fantastic collection on show, Eton College Natural History Museum is also used extensively for teaching biology and geology.
