About Chiltern Open Air Museum
Chiltern Open Air Museum is an enchanting award winning attraction, open for its 2014 season from the 29th March until the 31st October.
The Museum is a great place for families, with a 45 acre site to run around and explore. There are over 30 rescued historic buildings on display, including an Iron Age House, a working Victorian farm and blacksmith’s forge. Families can explore the woodland trail and borrow a free audio guide and activity pack to enhance their adventure. There are plenty of opportunities to dress up and play with historic toys and games and to get involved in craft activities during the holidays with Terrific Tuesday family events. Children will love playing in the heritage adventure playground inspired by the Museum’s historic buildings.
You can rest in our newly refurbished tea room or there is plenty of space to stop for a picnic on our Village Green, you can even grab a delicious ice cream from the snack shop.
The site is accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs. There are two electric scooters available to hire which is free of charge, although donations to the Museum are always welcome. Please ring the Museum on 01494 871 117 to check availability and book.
The Museum also hosts a programme of exciting events throughout the year, including Sharpe’s Rifles, Medieval Life, Classic Vehicles, Tudor Farming, nasty Normans and many more. For more details visit website.
