About Chatsworth House, Gardens & Farmyard
When visiting Bakewell, Derbyshire, bring the whole family along to Chatsworth House, Gardens and Farmyard for a fantastic day out.
The house itself was once home to the Devonshire family and is classed as one of the Treasure Houses of England, renowned for its brilliant art collection and architecture. With over 30 rooms to explore, from regal State Rooms to the beautiful Sculpture Gallery, the house alone is well worth a visit...but it doesnt end there.
The garden, originally designed by Dan Pearson who wanted to capture the essence of Chatsworth, has evolved over its 450 year history and is still changing to this day. The garden has a rich heritage and there is plenty to discover at every turn, from modern waterworks and sculptures to the Victorian rock garden and the Maze.
For the little ones Chatsworth has the farmyard and adventure playground, which has been a favourite day out for children since 1973. With so many activities to take part in, from meeting the ponies and lambs to taking a trailer ride around the farm, the children are sure to be entertained - whilst making new friends and trying new things. Whilst the children are having fun in the farm, the grownups can enjoy refreshments in the café or browse the shop.
Chatsworth House, Gardens and Farmyard has so much to offer, whether you are looking for a cultural day out or are looking for a day full of brilliant activities for everyone to enjoy!
Note: The car park has an all day charge of £3 per car, but if you book your tickets online, parking is free.

What an amazing place, and expensive. One day around the house and garden is not enough !!!! An outstanding day out as long as the weather is dry. This is one place not to miss. Remember to take plenty of money....
