The best preserved of Plymouth's Victorian defences, the fort has had many uses over the years and is a site steeped in history. One of ten forts originally built in the mid-nineteenth century to defend from French naval attacks and used in the military right up until 1985, the fort is now open to public on the last Friday of every month offering access to the grounds and museum.
