About Greyfriars Kirkyard

 

Located in the centre of Edinburgh, Greyfriars Kirk is a building of great historical significance to the city. This building is certainly more than meets the eye with the church itself also a well-renowned concert venue and the surrounding yard home to the burial sites of many of the city's more famous citizens inlcuding novelist Henry Mackenzie and architecht Robert Adam. The museum tells of the fascinating history of the building from the religous activity conducted there to the signing of the National Covenant in 1638.

Guided tours are available and access to the Covenanter's prison is available upon request. Please see the website for booking details.
