About Ingatestone Hall
Built in the sixteenth century by Tudor secretary of state Sir William Petre, Ingatestone Hall stands proud in the countryside of Ingatestone and retains much of its original bulding work. Having been visited by famous guests, including Queen Elizabeth I, a visit to the hall provides a fantastic oppurtunity to appreciate beautiful Tudor architecture as well as the scenic grounds surrounding the building. While primarily a family residence, guided tours of the premises are readily available during its public opening periods.
