About RSPB Rainham Marshes Nature Reserve
Rainham Marshes is a fantastic day out for all the family! You can explore this lovely nature reserve throughout the year, and get close to the amazing wildlife. There are a number of hides and viewing places that give great views of wildlife, even without binoculars. The paths and boardwalks are good so you can explore throughout the year, join one of the guided or themed walks to find out more, enjoy a nice cuppa and homemade cake in our cafe and pick up some bird seed or other wildlife care items in the shop. Families are welcome too – you can visit the adventure play area, borrow a wildlife challenge sheet (for ages 3-5’s, 6-10’s and 10-13’s), and there are also fabulous family activities and events.
And of course there’s the wildlife – lots of wildlife! Butterflies, dragonflies, bees, birds, very cute water voles, marsh frogs and lots more!
What’s at Rainham? Visitor centre, hides and viewing areas, car park, accessible toilets, baby-changing facilities, picnic area, cafe and shop, 2.5 miles of nature trail, wildlife garden, adventure play area, toddlers play area, events all year round, lots of wildlife.
Rainham Marshes also run curriculum linked courses for all age school groups and can also run fabulous fun birthday parties (pond dipping is a favourite!), scouting groups, youth groups, and adults groups too – just ask for details.Read Less
