With outstanding views and in close sight of the Needles rock formation, Alum Bay is also best known for its multi-coloured sand cliffs. A fixture of Isle of Wight tourist shops and a traditional product of Alum Bay, is to create ornaments using the coloured sands layered in vials and jars; you can make your own in The Needles Park, which has resources available for you. As well as a fairground, souvenir shops and ways to take you to and from the pebble beach below it, there are also frequent boat trips that regularly tour the Needles.
