Founded in the 19th century by industrialist William Hesketh Lever, this village has a number of different places to explore and something to interest any visitor. For those interested in the history of the area, the multi-award winning museum has many fascinating exhibits on what makes the village the way it is today and is also home ot tea room and gift shop. For those that want to see the village in all its glory, there are guided tours that cover all the areas of interest, including many notable residents and workers and are lead by fun and enthusiastic guides.
