Groombridge Place announces a packed programme of summer events!

During the summer holidays, visitors to Groombridge Place near Tunbridge Wells, can enjoy an exciting programme of new summer activities beginning on 29 July 2013. The new activities will complement the more familiar attractions at Groombridge which include the Enchanted Forest, Crusoe's World, award winning gardens and birds of prey displays. All events will be free with admission.

The new activities will include firm family favourites including storytelling, drumming workshops and theatre. Older children can also take part in more energetic activities with an inflatable bungee run as well as enjoy water gun fights and zorbing!

Groombridge Place is open every day during the summer and throughout the holidays every Wednesday and Friday there will be storytelling and drumming in the Enchanted Forest from 11am to 4.30pm.

'Water Activity Weeks' (weeks commencing Monday 5 and 26 August) will entertain children during the summer holidays with bungee run , party games, water gun fights, zorbing and The Ugly Duckling Puppet theatre show.

Week commencing Monday 12 August of the summer holidays 'Farming Frenzy' activities will include games surrounding the vegetable patch, needle in a haystack and pig races with electric pigs! Children can also plant their own magic bean to take home and watch 'Jack and the Beanstalk' puppet theatre show.

Weeks commencing Monday 29 July and Monday 19 August will see a 'Summer Fete' theme with a chance for families to take part in welly-wanging, tin can ally, bucket games, splat the rat, egg and spoon, tug of war and sack races. Children can decorate a cake to take home and watch the 'Three Little Pigs' puppet theatre show.

Over the Bank Holiday Weekend (24 - 26 August) children can also enjoy an exciting new Cowboys and Indians themed weekend.

All the popular attractions at Groombridge will also be open including Crusoe's World with its authentic wooden ship complete with rope brides and the enchanted forest with its huge tree swings, zip wire and forest trail full of challenges and mystical secrets.

Visitors can walk round or sit in the lovely award winning gardens which overlook the 17th century moated manor house. Don't miss a trip on the canal boat, the chance to meet the baby animals or enjoy the daily birds of prey displays (Tuesday to Sunday) at 12.30pm and 3.30pm

The beautiful peacocks that roam the grounds can often be seen from the new 'Peacock Bistro' which serves hot and cold drinks, as well as delicious lunches and cream teas.

Groombridge Place is open daily between 9.30am and 5.30pm (last admission 4pm) and has ample free parking.

The attraction is less than 4 miles from town and accessible by road or via the Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells which has a station a short walk from the attraction.
