Manchester Cathedral Radio returns for Christmas

Following the success of last year’s pop-up DAB radio station, Manchester Cathedral’s Christmas station returns again for 2017.

Manchester Cathedral Radio will broadcast a unique blend of Christmas songs and features from 12 noon on Sunday 3 December through until 12 noon on Sunday 7 January. Listeners will gain an insight into the various events taking place at Manchester Cathedral in the run up to Christmas, with live broadcasts, interviews with people behind the scenes and much more.

Manchester Cathedral Radio is the brainchild of Manchester Radio pioneer Mike Shaft who has a long association with the Cathedral.

“It is an absolute joy to once again bring Manchester Cathedral Radio to the airwaves of Manchester and beyond. This year we are working with FLAME CCR to bring our special mix of Christmas songs, Gospel songs, Country songs and lots of inspirational pop, plus Interviews and special features from a Christian perspective.

I believe the people of Manchester will once again take Manchester Cathedral Radio to their hearts”. Dean of Manchester, The Very Reverend Rogers Govender, said:

“I am absolutely delighted that the Manchester Cathedral radio station is broadcasting again this year for Advent and Christmas. I am very grateful to Mike Shaft for leading this project. I would also like to thank Flame Radio for broadcasting Manchester Cathedral Radio. I hope it brings much joy to the people of Manchester”.

Manchester Cathedral Radio will broadcast daily from 8am to 8pm, across central Manchester on DAB+ digital radio and will also be available online by clicking HERE.
