Worksop is a historical town, the largest in the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, with evidence that it existeed before the Norman Conquest of England (1066). It is situated on the River Ryton at the northern edge of Sherwood Forest. It is just 19 miles east-south of Sheffield and has an estimated population of approximately 45,000.
