About Carisbrooke Castle
Charles I was imprisoned here for 14 months, and you can see many of his personal possessions at the castle's museum. The castle is remarkably well preserved despite resisting a siege by the French, and it also saw off the Spanish Armada. You can even view the donkeys drawing up water in the well-house.
