As a former Ganges Boy (1965) I and my family find the Museum is a great place to visit. If you or any family members were at Ganges then it's a must do. You will find thousands of photos and loads of items to get the old grey matter working. One of the best things for Old Boys and Families are the year books that are full of photos and original documents. The volunteer staff are so helpful and knowledgeable. Best to check the Museums web site for opening times as it does close over winter.

HMS Ganges Museum is a fabulously interesting testament to all the boys who training at the Royal navy's most famous training establishment. The range of items on display, all donated by exGanges boys or their families and taken from the Ganges site, is amazing. The staff were cheery and helpful, the two on duty were both ex ganges boys and one was also an instructor. Very informative. The little one had quick look round but enjoyed sitting at the activity table to let us carry on looking around. There was so much to see. We even watched a video of the mast-manning.
