About Royal Armouries Leeds
The Royal Armouries is home to Britain’s national collection of arms and armour, with sites in Leeds, The White Tower (Tower of London) and FortNelson, Hampshire.
This world-renowned collection contains over 75,000 objects, including arms, armour and artillery from the early medieval period to the present day, from Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Our collection includes royal armours of the Tudor and Stuart kings, arms and armour of the English Civil Wars (including the armoury from Littlecote House), British and foreign military weapons from the Board of Ordnance and MOD Pattern Room collections. We also have hunting and sporting weapons, as well as an exceptional collection of oriental arms and armour.
At the Leeds museum there are over 8,500 objects exhibited in five exciting galleries – War, Tournament, Oriental, Self Defence and Hunting, as well as a massed display of weapons in the magnificent Hall of Steel.
A lively programme of daily events, including live combat demonstrations, handling sessions and dramatic performances make a visit to the museum a new experience every time.
There are school holiday activities and weekend events throughout the year. Please visit our website for more information.
