About Lacock Abbey Village and Fox Talbot Museum
Set in the picturesque heart of Wiltshire, this country house is a beautiful piece of architecture and has a fascinating history. Built upon the foundations of a nunnery, the house's monastic past can still be felt to this day in the many medieval rooms and the cloister court. The museum covers the history of a former Lacock resident, William Henry Fox Talbot, famous in the community and well known for his contributions to the invention of photography. A stroll in the grounds of the Abbey reveals seasonal plants and is the perfect place to relax and take in the beautiful sights of the surrounding area.
