About Castlerigg Stone Circle
This ancient site dates back to 3000 BC and may be one of the oldest stone circles in the country. As a Neolithic circle, it differs from many of the later stone circles in the country in a number of ways, including the size and placement of the rocks and is a site of great historical interest to many.
