About St. John's Abbey Gate
The surviving fifteenth century gatehouse is all that remains of the destroyed abbey of St. John the Baptist. The vaulted interior is a fantastic example of later medieval architecture and while it is the only above-ground surviving structure of this abbey, it still echoes the former strength and size of the building.
