About Smallhythe Place NT

Smallhythe Place was first built in the early 16th century and was purchased by Ellen Terry, the renowned actress, in 1899. Visitors can discover the extraordinary career and personal life of Ellen Terry, in the museums fascinating collection, put together by her daughter Edith Craig in 1929. Guests can also attend a show at the charming 17th century thatched Barn Theatre or can simply explore the stunning cottage garden.
