About Abbey Pumping Station

Built in 1891, this pumping station originally pumped the city's sewage to the treatment works and is now a museum showcasing the technological, scientific and industrial history of Leicester. The amazing Victorian Beam Engines on display have been restored back to working condition and can be seen steaming on special event days.
