2017 Dates Launched for Real Ale and Cider Express Trains at the Kent & East Sussex Railway

Real Ale Trains and Cider Express Trains are back for 2017!!  Sit back with your locally produced tipple and enjoy your ride behind a historic steam locomotive and watch the delightful countryside of the Rother Valley roll past.  Enjoy a tasty hot meal served during the journey and on arrival at the picturesque Bodiam Station there will be live music to entertain you. 

“Following the popularity of this new product in 2016, we are delighted to offer a variety of dates for this year to showcase what the Kent & East Sussex Railway and our partners do best.  Why not bring friends for a fun evening of food, drink and music whilst enjoying a steam train ride?” Says Product and Reservations Manager Helen Douglas

Boarding at Tenterden will be from 6.30pm and trains will depart at 7.00pm.  Your hot meal will be served as the train travels from Tenterden to Bodiam.  On board the Real Ale Trains you can enjoy some of the finest micro-brewery real ales including those from the railway’s neighbours the Old Dairy Brewery and the Rother Valley Brewing Company.   Aboard the Cider Express, enjoy delicious ciders from Kent’s oldest vineyard, Biddenden Vineyards, who are working in partnership with the Kent & East Sussex Railway for these special trains. 

On arrival at Bodiam Station, a live band will provide entertainment for the duration of the station stop. Arrival back at Tenterden is scheduled for 9.45pm.

The price of £29 includes return train travel, your on-board meal, live entertainment at Bodiam and a limited edition Real Ale Train/Cider Express souvenir glass.  Real Ales are just £3.00 per pint from the on-board bar.

Available dates to book for Real Ale:  Saturday 15 April, Saturday 29 April, Friday 14 July, Friday 4 August and a Hop Festival Special will run on Saturday 9 September.

Available dates to book for The Cider Express:  Friday 2nd June and Friday 1 September 2017.
