All creatures great and small…

ZSL London Zoo is expecting a stampede of children this summer with the Little Creatures family festival.

Back for the second-year following a huge debut success, Little Creatures family festival is taking place from Friday 30 August to Sunday 1 September - a wild weekend with entertainment for every generation to enjoy, and at no extra cost than a standard zoo ticket.ZSL London Zoo News - Little Creatures Festival

Brand new for 2013, Little Creatures will be hosting Shaun the Sheep's Pom Pom Parade to celebrate the Campaign for Wool. Aiming to set a Guinness World Record, Shaun the Sheep will be asking festival-goers to make their own Pom Pom sheep to add to the numbers and join in with wool spinning.

As well more than 19,000 animals to see, Little Creatures family festival also features exclusive interactive stage shows, storytelling sessions, wild roaming characters, whacky races and a chance to explore a magical fairy queen's Rainbow Trail through the enchanted woodland walk.

A must-see is the Zoo's brand new Tiger Territory exhibit, home to Sumatran tigers Jae Jae and Melati. Kids can take part in the daily Tigers Live! demonstration, or follow the tale of Hari the tiger cub as they embark on a journey through the Indonesian inspired habitat.

Kids can get hands on with the daily Play Zoo activities - getting kitted out with brooms and lab coats as they dress up as mini zookeepers, scientists and vets or burn off some energy at the pedal-powered disco - where they'll have to cycle to power the tunes that they'll be bopping along to!

And if the little ones are still not worn out, the Animal Adventure children's zoo features tunnels that lead to meerkat homes, abseil ropes for those who consider walking boring, and the ever-popular splash zone - the perfect place for kids to cool off in the summer.

Grown-ups will love the Zoo's brand-new Terrace Restaurant where they can enjoy a leisurely lunch in the outdoor seating overlooking the park - it's the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere of the day.
