Santa in residence at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo from 5 December 2015

Christmas is coming early at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, as the Zoo’s magical Christmas grotto opens on Saturday 5 December.

Every weekend from Saturday 5 December, and then each day from Friday 18 to Thursday 24 December, young visitors to the Zoo can Meet Santa and share their Christmas wishes in an unforgettably enchanting encounter.

Families can take away a festive family portrait and every child will receive a special gift. Younger ones will be kept entertained by Mrs Clause, as she is on hand with Christmas arts and crafts.

A VIP Meet Santa experience also launches for the first time this year, the week before Christmas. Lucky guests will get exclusive access to the Zoo before it opens, where they can see their favourite animals at first light.

Children will not only be able to meet Father Christmas and his elves but also catch sight of his reindeer as they graze in their paddock. Having enjoyed an extra special Reindeer Talk, guests will sit down to a delicious breakfast.

From 5 December, ZSL Whipsnade’s Zoo’s magical Meet Santa and VIP Meet Santa experiences will give families yet another reason to enjoy a wonderful day with animals such as elephants, lions and hippos at the UK’s largest Zoo.
