At-Bristol's half-term activities

The popular science centre At-Bristol, based on Bristol's Harbourside, is gearing up for next week's Half-Term and has a whole range of exciting activities on offer which explores everything from atoms to astrophysics in the new Explore Your Universe family show - with hair-raising experiences, amazing memory metal, thermal imaging cameras and lasers!

Throughout the half-term holiday the Explore Your Universe show will be swinging in to action - as part of a national programme of events, supported by the UK Association of Science and Discovery Centres (ASDC) and the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), the show has seen over 28,000 people of all ages take part in the show which is running in 10 science centres across the UK. The At-Bristol show features some amazing 'memory metal' which changes shape in different temperatures, experiments using laser technology, thermal imaging cameras and the hair-raising Van de Graaf machine - all with plenty of audience participation of course!

There will also be some taste-based fun in our Kitchen Chemistry show in the Live Lab area, and Planetarium shows for all ages throughout the day, with the special Little Stars show for our under 5 space troopers, and a presenter-led Spring Night Sky show for our older star gazers.

During Half-Term children can also enjoy our new storytelling adventure, The Missing Puddle, where under 8s can get join in an adventure story with Ursa and Leo. Filled with sounds, actions and some simple science experiments, it's perfect for engaging little ears! With all this, plus the hundreds of other exhibits, there's plenty to do!

Unless otherwise stated, all events and activities are free with a ticket to At-Bristol, apart from the Planetarium which has a small charge of £1 for Night Sky shows and 50p for Little Stars shows.
