Eye Dissection Workshops at Thackray Medical Museum

Spring Half Term, 30 May - 3 June 2016

Thackray Medical Museum will be running a series of fascinating eye dissection workshops, in conjunction with medical experts from Leeds Teaching Hospitals, this Spring Half Term.

Children will get the chance to dissect a sheep eye to gain an understanding of how the cornea, lens, iris and optic nerve work together to create an image of the world.

Learning Manager, Liz Egan, explains “Our family dissection activities are always very popular and these eye dissection workshops will give children another opportunity to learn about their bodies in a unique way. We are very pleased to be working with experts from Leeds Teaching Hospitals again who have such a vast amount of knowledge to share.”

Workshops take place Monday 30th May to Friday 3 June. Visitors should book their place on arrival at the museum. A small charge of £3 will apply in addition to usual admission charges. Please check the website for further details www.thackraymedicalmuseum.co.uk
