Festival of Climbing and Caving at Cheddar Gorge

Cheddar Gorge, in Somerset, is set to host a Festival of Climbing and Caving from September 1st to September 8th - with an opening ceremony featuring the newly formed 'Rock Arrows' on Friday, August 30 at 11am.

The week-long festival is aimed at celebrating all things adventurous in the world famous Gorge, and will give visitors of all ages and ability the opportunity to try their hands at rock climbing, abseiling and caving.

While "Queue & Do" sessions will be available from September 2nd-6th, for as little as £5 per session, visitors will also be encouraged to "Go & Glow" on caving sessions. The newest activity introduced to Cheddar Gorge in time for the summer school holidays - in-cave abseiling in Gough's Cave "Black Cat Chamber" - meanwhile, will be given a special twist throughout the week, with dramatic lighting effects.

All of the extreme activities listed on the Cheddar Gorge website, will be available throughout the Festival on a 2-for-1 basis. For further details on Cheddar Gorge X-treme and prices, visit http://www.cheddargorge.co.uk/plan-your-visit/x-treme-price-info/.

One of the most spectacular natural locations in the whole of the UK Cheddar is also the home, these days, of Cheddar Gorge X-Treme - considered by many as the ultimate way of exploring the gorge & caves, from top to bottom.

The Rock Arrows will be staging displays each day of the Festival between 10am and 10.30am.
