Frimley Lodge goes Live!

Frimley Lodge Park hosts its first ever one day music festival featuring three of the best tribute bands around on Saturday 9 August.

Frimley Lodge Live will welcome Are you Experienced, The Doors Alive and The Wholigans to recreate the magic and ambience of the iconic music festivals of the 60s and 70s.

Jimi Hendrix tribute act Are You Experienced was formed in 1996 and the onstage resemblance is there for all to see. With showmanship that harks back to Jimi's late 60s performances, even the most ardent fan would raise a wry smile.

The Doors Alive are widely regarded as the closest and most enthralling representation of the legendary 1960s rock gods The Doors gigging today. The band recreates the sound, look, presence and magic of a real 1960s Doors concert.

The Wholigans are regarded by fans of The Who as the world's best Who tribute, which is proven by the band being asked to headline Who conventions worldwide. The band have headlined four international Who conventions since 2003, each being a sell-out success with profits going to the Teenage Cancer Trust & the Meg Fox Foundation.

Leigh Thornton, Commercial Services Manager for Surrey Heath Borough Council said: "This is a truly exciting and unique event never before seen in Surrey Heath. Frimley Lodge Park is a much loved and treasured park which has been nationally recognised by Green Flag for the past 13 years as being one of the best in the country. Frimley Lodge Live now gives the park a chance to rock!"

Frimley Lodge Live is an outdoor music event organised by the business services team at Surrey Heath Borough Council and Camberley Theatre. Picnics and low backed chairs are welcomed and there is a licensed bar and food stands inside the arena.

Tickets are on sale now and are available from Camberley Theatre Box Office by calling 01276 707600 or www.camberleytheatre.biz . Book before 31 May to take advantage of the Early Bird ticket prices, with adults at £15, young people £8 and kids under 9 go free.
