Get your skates - tickets now on sale for the At-Bristol Ice Rink!

The Harbourside science centre, At-Bristol, will again host a real-ice ice rink on Millennium Square this winter; tickets are on sale now and the build begins today! Regular sessions will include evening ‘Disco Boots’ and special weekend ‘Little Boots’ sessions for under 8s, and the ice rink will also be joined by weekend market stalls on Millennium Square from the Harbourside Christmas Market from the end of November. 

The city-centre ice rink, returning for a third year, will open from Saturday 7 November until Tuesday 5  January; tickets are on sale now, and include sessions open to the general public, schools groups, evening discos and special under-eights sessions. Before the public opening a ‘soft launch’ period will welcome At-Bristol Members and local community groups to the ice rink. Located in the heart of the Harbourside, the 450m² ice rink will run underneath At-Bristol’s iconic chrome-plated Planetarium building, with up to 150 skaters per session.

This year, the real-ice ice rink will also be accompanied by Christmas market stalls from the Harbourside Christmas Market, who will be on Millennium Square every weekend from 28 November featuring Bristol’s best artists, designer-makers, producers, collectors and creators, all selling ethically and sustainably sourced goodies. There will also be a live music stage in Anchor Square where visitors can choose a mulled treat from the Market bar, settle under a blanket on the deckchairs around the fire pits, and enjoy bands, singers and the resident market DJ, surrounded by specially commissioned décor.

At-Bristol’s Commercial and Operations Director, Donna Speed, said: “After the popularity of the ice rink over the last two years, we’re delighted to see the return of the rink this winter. Having the ice rink here on Millennium Square is always a special time for us; it always brings a special feel to the Christmas atmosphere in the Harbourside, especially with the return of the Harbourside Markets, and with the special sessions including ‘Disco Boots’ and ‘Little Boots’, there really should be something for everyone! This year we’ll also be looking at ways to add a bit more of the sciencey fun that visitors experience inside At-Bristol, by bringing it outside to the ice rink with demonstrations, using the Big Screen, and a few other surprises!”

Tickets will cost £8.50 for adults, £7.50 for concessions and £6.50 for children, with reduced entry rates for group bookings and a discount for booking online. The ice rink will be closed on Christmas Day.

Millennium Square car park will unfortunately be closed as the ice rink opens, as it undergoes repair work following a car fire in the car park in September.
