GO TO SEE THE OWL AND THE PUSSYCAT AT THE MARITIME MUSEUM

The National Maritime Museum Cornwall is bringing to life the much loved poem The Owl and the Pussycat, this half-term.

Visitors can enjoy owl encounters, inspired by Edward Lear’s nonsense poem, on May 28-29 and meet the amazing owls from Screech Owl Sanctuary.  Don’t miss this unique opportunity to get up close to these beautiful and majestic birds.

Visitors will also have the chance to get creative and work with a local artist to create a giant owl and the pussycat sculpture over the weekend.  And throughout half-term from May 28-June 5 there will be the Museum’s much loved make and take activities, where kids can make their own owl and cat masks and build a rubber band boat to race on the boat pool. Plus follow the Sail Away Trail and search high and low for all the things the owl and the pussycat took on their journey.

Laura and Alice of All Seasons Story-makers invite you to join in the nonsensical antics of the Owl and The Pussycat in a musical rendition of Edward Lear's poem, on Tuesday 31. With Alice's magical harping and Laura's storytelling and a maritime mix of sound effects go on a journey to the land where the Bong tree grows.

Plus Thursday is ‘Thorsday’ at the Maritime Museum!  On June 2 meet the Norse men and women from the epic Viking Voyagers exhibition, experience living history with Morvleydh, the Sea Wolves and make your own authentic ‘King Cnut’ Viking age coin to take home.

All activities at the Maritime Museum in Falmouth over May half-term are free with your Museum entrance ticket.  For more information on opening times and admission prices visit www.nmmc.co.uk.
